Several Small Things -

-Before I dash off for Glasgow!

There are new interviews with me about Demon Knights and Stormwatch up at IGN and CBR, the latter being possibly the most in-depth I've ever gone into the ideas behind Stormwatch.

Covers and blurbs for #4 of all the 'Edge' group of DC titles are up here, including the cover for Stormwatch #4. (We've changed our minds since we wrote the solicit about referring to our monsters as 'antibodies'.)

I'm interviewed on the first edition of the revamped Comixology Podcast about all things DC.

And SF Signal's Mind Meld was kind enough to ask me to comment on their latest question: 'Who are the natural storytellers of Science Fiction and Fantasy?

Okay, hope to see some of you tonight in Glasgow and tomorrow in Edinburgh. Until then, Cheerio!

Your 'Cornell Dissects "Stormwatch" #1' interview over at CBR has me excited for what's in store for Stormwatch. Two weeks until Stormwatch #2 WooHoo!

I liked both interviews. Though, I'm going to be frank, in the Stormwatch one, you said you'd be using expository dialogue for powers and the like... this is kind of a pet peeve of mine, to be honest. But you also said that there would be a recap page.... Why couldn't you just add little blurbs about the characters, at least the ones that feature prominently in that particular issue, on the recap page, with a little bit about what their powers are? I mean, you have the recap page ANYWAY.... and then it's both new reader friendly and doesn't make the dialogue sound unnatural.

Though, Midnighter still has to do his 'I'm gonna kick your ass, and here's how' speech/threat. :p

I also hope there are some times when it slows down. Give everyone a chance to catch their breath...

Anyway, I am mostly here right now because I just heard they may have broken the speed of light with the Large Hadron Collider, which is exciting all on it's own. But then it hit me, you have Jenny's powers to now reflect current knowledge of physics... so does this mean you already have to tweak her powers?

Though you may have gotten lucky in that regard. From what I can tell, a lot of people seem to be of the opinion the particles may have entered something like Hyperspace, which you are already using...

  • Paul Cornell Says:

Thanks, Chris. I must change the side panel to reflect that! I'm afraid I don't have an alternative, Jill, and there won't be, as it turns out, much in the way of recap captions either. It will slow down, though. And yes, Jenny's powers may well reflect that, good call.
