Demon Knights tonight!

Demon Knights #1 is in your comic shops today, and from 6pm to 7pm tonight, I'll be signing it (and anything else) at London's Forbidden Planet.

Wired have an exclusive preview of the issue, with some lovely Diogenes Neves art.

I'll also be doing a signing in Ealing on Sunday at the Comic Expo.

I talk about the first issue, and DC in general, on the latest episode of The Comic Book Roadshow Podcast, so do have a listen.

The results of the Stormwatch character poll on the blog were interesting. Of the established characters (and shame on you if you voted before you read the issue) the Manhunter beat the Midnighter, Jack and Apollo. We weren't expecting the new guys to do as well straight off, but the Projectionist seems to have struck a chord, because she did as well as Apollo did. And the Engineer came last! Bit of a shock for me. And perhaps worrying, since she's front and centre soon. Is there no Angie love out there?

Until next time, Cheerio!

Don't worry--Angie probably would have been my second choice behind J'onn (or maybe third, behind Jenny.)

I did think Angie seemed maybe just a little bit too snarky in #1. ("Well, thanks for bringing me up to speed, Adam; I only run the place"; and "Oh, it's going SO well.") Adam will probably turn out to deserve it, but he seemed fairly good-humored and likeable in this issue, so she might look like she is unnecessarily carping.

For me Midnighter clearly had the badass factor. Matrian Manhunter was a bit missing his telephathy and Angie a bit of her sex appeal.

I'm curiois about Adam One. Does it help if I read Grants run on JLA?

  • The Sword Is Drawn Says:

Well, Angie didn't get as much page time in #1, can be my only guess...

    I voted Jack, btw :)

Enjoyed Stormwatch #1, quite a lot. And Demon Knights is on its way to me in the post. I look forward to it. Me and my delightful other half are both on a real sword and sorcery kick at the moment, so I suspect it'll be right up our street. :)

I voted for Angie :( She was snarky and competent, and I liked her. Also she had the prettiest art and I'm terribly shallow sometimes.

Maybe she didn't get as many votes because she had less page time. More people will probably like her once she gets more things to do.

  • Paul Cornell Says:

Angie's been under a lot of pressure under Adam's leadership, Anon, we're going to see a lot more about that. Stefan: no, it won't help, this is a new character. Sword: hope you like it. Muc: I hope that's true, I like her!

So the Name "Adam One" is a coincidence?
