The Next Cap Appearance

Deadpool Team-Up #893, out in May, written by Rob Williams, drawn by Matteo Scalera, cover by Humberto Ramos. All the while I was writing Cap, Rob was sending me death threats about how it should be him. And now it is. Phew! He's been kind enough to show me a couple of pages of script, in which another member of MI-13 appears, and I didn't feel the need to comment on a single thing: Brian is in good hands. So that's two MI-13 appearances this year accounted for (and another I hadn't counted, in the last issue of Dr. Voodoo) and two to go. You'll have to wait a bit longer for the rest. Cheerio!

I absolutely love that cover. New desktop wallpaper, methinks...
This issue is going be very, very silly - but in the best possible way.
And to acknowledge a Captain Britain foe like Slaymaster, in plotting, is something I can't NOT support.
I look forward to it.
I think I might have just blown a happy fuse.
This team up is going to unite my LiveJournal friends list in ways I'd never have dared to dream.
Seconding the love for the cover!
Anyone know why "deadpool team-up" starts on 899 then descends?
Good to see Brian out and about, but what about a Paul Cornell penned Brian adventure?!?
I'm with Max on this.
I want to see more Cornell Cap.
we want YOUR MI:13 back, now!!
:)
Max- it spun out of issue #900 of Deadpool.
Basically, they're doing it ... because they can basically.
Thanks, everyone. It's heartening to hear so many people wanting Cap back. And I like the sound of your list, Anna!
They were as excited as I expected. Perhaps even moreso.
Given that my f-list includes the dazzling iambickilometer (who is potentially your biggest fan... well, Stateside, at least), I will be sure to pass on your approval!
One thing that I like about Brian's sort of appearances all over the place is that he's a "big noise" in the magical community now, rather then a bit of a wet blanket in the super-hero one.
99% of comic readers on the street would have thought of "Captain Britain" as being a rip-off of Captain America, but now he's more of icon of British independence from American super-heroics. Which is nice, and the idea that any American "cape" who goes to the UK will have to deal with MI:13 and/or Brian eventually is something that deserves to be explored (eventually).
Awesome! I'm Glad to see some more Cap Britain. I feel ashamed that I didn't pick up the Mi:13 Series a while back. I was interested but never acted upon it. So, I've dedicated this month by buying every issue I can find. Can't wait for some more Captin Britain in the Heroic Age. I have faifth in you Mr.Cornell...don't let me down or I will NOT find you =D Btw my name is hidden as anonymous >_<
Thanks Anna, please do. Dan: indeed, he's always been an alternative in all sorts of ways. Anon: well, erm, thank you.
Just finished Captain Britain and MI 13. It was thrilling with all the stragetic twist and turns, and beautifully sad(in a Survival's end voice-over sort of way.)
Great!
I wanted to message you a question, but I cannot see your email address on your profile.
You replaced David Cameroon with Doctor Doom early on in the Vampire State arc. Did you have the whole arc planned in your head before you made that change?
Was Doctor Doom's second appearance in the arc, always planned? Or was David Cameroon going to return?
:)
Max
Thanks very much, Max. And good question. It was very much the case that, having replaced Cameron with Doom, I then realised that Doom would work in the latter part of the story, and I also felt that any early appearance he made would have to pay off later. I couldn't just have him appear once, if you see what I mean. It's decisions like this that are the nuts and bolts of writing.
Thanks Paul.
So originally was Megan just going to appear on Dracula's ship?
Sorry for all the questions.
I find it really interesting how writers develop their plots.
I'm trying to remember. I think that is the case, yes.
