Hugo Short Form Poll: My Incompetence Continues
I've just started up the poll again, because Chris Roberson mentioned Fringe, and that should have been on there too. (Torchwood will be up for Long Form this year, Being Human starts next year.) Does anyone want to suggest any more titles I should include, like that fine new series Wafer Thin Mint?

Dependent upon the level of crossover and its US audience, I guess The Sarah Jane Adventures might get a higher profile. The lack of regular Who might help.
It's a great show, really terrific from time to time, but I don't think a children's show has ever made it to the ballot. So you're being a bit Wafer Thin Mint there, Steve!
Has SJA ever aired over here? It's a great show.
I really wanted to like Dollhouse, but it didn't capture my imagination like some shows do. I think it got better from the pseudo-documentary episode on. (Need more coffee to dredge up the title.) Supposedly they're going more in the direction of the unaired episode. (How's that for spoilers?) It'll be interesting to see what they do in the 2nd season. Definitely a risky idea for a show.
Being Human was great, too. Still haven't seen season 3 of Primeval, yet.
Hey, I could have gone completely bonkers and suggested Knight Rider or =choke= Demons. (That said, will Primeval fandom rise together and try to get it onto the ballot? A concerted effort for one particular episode might just do it.)
There's always a first time guys ;) Sarah Jane Adventures certainly has its dramatic moments. Doctor Who and V are my personal favs :)
I don't know where Sarah Jane airs in the US, Garpu. Maybe on BBC America? I'm a huge fan of Dollhouse. It's brilliant to see something that daring in a network context. Steve: yes, you're bonkers. But I'd really like to see that concerted push for Primeval: it deserves it. And indeed, Ro. This poll, incidentally, assumes that if Supernatural, Medium and Ghost Whisperer were ever going to get nominated, they'd have done it by now, that Heroes won't stage a great critical recovery, and that The Witches of Eastwick won't trouble the judges, any of which could be proved wrong.
You omitted Eureka...
Again, not likely after all this time, is it? Still, I could be wrong.
You're probably right about Eureka; although the show is consistently entertaining, week after week, and every episode is well-constructed with good foreshadowing, no episode tends to stand out in my mind with the power of some of the most powerful DW and BSG episodes.
Still, one thing to keep in mind is that lists like these can become self-fulfilling prophecies, as people filling out their ballots will often use them as reference points. So if Eureka fails to earn a Hugo nod in 2010, you can feel free to take blame. :-)

yes, very true. There isn't another show on TV like it.
Michael: I think I'll sleep soundly. Garpu: indeed.
Watching ep. 1 of season 2 of Dollhouse. It'll be interesting to see where they go with this...
I can't wait!
