Young Avengers and Dark X-Men Today
Just a quick note to say that Dark Reign: Young Avengers #3 and Dark X-Men: The Beginning #2 are both out today in the US, Thursday in the UK. I'm very proud of them. Indeed, I think Young Avengers might turn out to be my best comics work so far. And one of the other stories in Dark X-Men is written by my old mate Rob Williams, so that's pleasing.
And Leonard Kirk's blog is up and running again!

The expression kind of suits the costume, doesn't it? Until next time, Cheerio.
And... it continues. This from Rob Stradling.

It reminds me vaguely of Neil Gaiman...
I am now picturing famous Vader Star Wars scenes, in my head, voiced by Tom Baker through a muffler...
Disturbing.
Is it just me, or would that Tom Baker head be more accurate if he was smiling?
Plus it puts a whole new spin on Empire Strikes Back.
"Luke, I am the Doctor."
"Noooooooo!!!!"
"Plus Chewbacca's your cousin."
"What?"
"Long story."
It does look a bit like Neil! And indeed, you two!
Vader voice, "I find your lack of jelly babies disturbing."
'What?!'
I find the idea of Vader Baker hysterical and ...seriously wrong. :)
Been meaning to come back by and comment on the Namor / Norman story after reading it, but was absorbing several reviews. A lot of people seem to believe everything you had Norman spouting, but wearing my Namor biased, rose colored glasses, I STILL feel that Namor had played Norman, and not vice versa. In fact, it reminded me of one of my favorite scenes from Lion in Winter, between Henry and Phillip.
Also wanted to say, I enjoyed the Cloak and Dagger story. It was full of wonderful little touches like on that first page, Norman's two panel reaction to the official's comment on why Norman is in this. What a great expression! And any number of his lines. You seem to be having a grand time with Norman's dialogues ... or is that soliloquies? :)
The one comic you've written that I decided to wait for the trade is the best comic you've written?! ::face palm:: Well, that will teach me.
Thanks very much. In terms of Namor/Norman, it's lovely when someone gets what one was trying to do! I think Norman walks away from that thinking he's won, but he really hasn't. Because Namor has hidden depths. I'm really enjoying Norman, actually.
Hl, did you not get my comment on Dark Avengers? Sent it via here about a fortnight back . . .
Hmm, I'm not sure if it was yours, but I do remember deleting a post because it broke my rule about being negative about other creators. Do try again!
Paul Cornell, you are my favorite Emma Frost writer, EVer. Since my favorite character in literary comics of all time is Jean Grey, that's saying a LOT, because it means that one of the minor reasons why Emma Frost was my least favorite character was because she twisted a relationship, that I followed forever because of Jean, into something I totally detested, I think, with reason. You are the first writer to actually get me to LIKE Emma Frost. You've managed to make her character development traits and symbology plausible. Christopher Yost and the writers of Generation X are the only other ones to get me on the PATH to starting to like her.
Kudos once again to your Emma Frost/Namor issue. THANK you.
Thanks very much. I've always liked Emma. Cheers.
