Interview and Giant Gorilla Captain Britain

Those of you reading this on Blogger may have noticed some changes to the page design recently: check out the list of blogs, the forthcoming projects covers (with links) and the poll on the right.

I pop in to say that I've just done a wide-ranging interview with the wonderful Charlie Jane Anders on the I09 website:

And here's cover artist David Yardin's rather wonderful 'Marvel Apes' cover for issue five of Captain Britain and MI-13, which will be going out on the book as a variant:

He's also doing us a zombie variant cover for issue six! Until next time, Cheerio!

meggan as Fae Wray is... never not funny.

  • Furious D Says:

All I have to say is that when in doubt, dress up a giant gorilla, and you can't go wrong. ;)

  • Gary Fitzgerald Says:

good interview .. and publish captain britain weekly (with no loss of quality)..
    thx,
    Gaz.

and slip in more *blank* "blank* inferno references please.

  • The Sword Is Drawn Says:

The Marvel Apes variant is genius. Yardin posted over at CBR that the Meggan touch was Nick Lowe's idea. It's a sound one, too.

I look forward to seeing the Zombie variant.

  • Rocko Jerome Says:

I went from having no problem passing up the ape variant cover to not being able to conceive of life without it just by clicking the link and looking at it.

  • Paul Cornell Says:

Thanks, all. Gary, there's something rather like such a reference in the last issue of the FF mini! And yes, Sword, Nick has such great ideas.

  • Ian Cullen Says:

    Nice interview.

As to the apes cover I say, 'Damn them... Damn them all to hell.'

Nice art work though - but think I will stick with the vanilla blade cover lol.

  • Jeremy Bement Says:

Great interview Paul, and having read Captain Britain #6 a couple days ago (thank you preview copy!) all I have to say is "Awesome cliffhanger!!"

  • Jacko Says:

Hey Paul, I see your attending the Birmingham comics convention. This'll be my first convention as I'm studying a foundation course in art and design and will be going round with my portfolio to show some artists that my Dad knows, its pretty bloody scary! I'll be sure to check out the panels you're on and pick up some back issues of Captain Britain! =) Have you been to this convention before?

    All the best,

    Jack.

  • Chris Nolan.ca Says:

    Check out a preview of #5 @

(and at it to your list to be notified when new issues ship)

  • Ian Cullen Says:

    Hi Paul,

I've just read your latest interview with Comic Book Resources. Sound like exciting times await with issue 6 onward of MI13.

I'm still waiting on my copy of issue four:(

Hoping to see you in Manchester next month - sadly I can't find where they're selling the tickets for the event - hopefully I will find out in plenty time to actually be able to be one of the lucky 80 attendees. Have never done a comic convention before - and prefer to start small.

Have been to plenty of TV related cons though.

  • Paul Cornell Says:

Thanks, all. Birmingham's a great convention. Got a bit packed last time, but hopefully that was just teething troubles. I tried that Facebook application, and wasn't too pleased with it: I couldn't make it do what I wanted it to. Still, new editions may have improved things.

  • Craig McKenney Says:

    Is Meggan coming back...?

  • mrbuckyk Says:

    Paul,
I just picked up issues one through three of Captain Britain and MI13 at my comic shop today and after reading through all three I am going back tomorrow to get the rest of the available issues! haha. Great book. I love the eclectic cast and setting. Leonard Kirk's pencils are fantastic as well. (I fan of his work on Agents of Atlas). I am looking forward to what you have in store for this book once Secret Invasion is over...

  • Paul Cornell Says:

Craig: yes. Bucky: thanks very much, glad you're enjoying it.
