Lots of News and Links
On World Book Day, March 6th, I was very pleased to open a new library at the Thomas Reade School in Abingdon. To perplex future generations, a plaque with my name on it now offends the wall there. I was tremendously enthused by the school itself, which seems vibrant and forward-looking, and now the children there have hundreds of entirely new, and entirely apt, books to choose from. Very satisfying to do that.
And last Thursday, I was pleased to have been a guest at a BBC Faith and Broadcasting seminar in Cardiff. Actually, honoured to have just been asked, but on the day I managed to speak up about, you know, stuff, and I think represent the twin faith communities of Anglican and Geek pretty well, as well as get to thank St. Menna Richards, Controller BBC Wales, for Doctor Who.
I went on and on recently at the request of the chaps from the Geek Syndicate Podcast:
Podcast.
I talk about the craft a bit as well as loads of comics, Who and SF geekiness.
And hey, I'm guesting at Chicago Tardis in November!
Chicago Tardis.
I did like these internet icons, especially since they include a couple of Bernice Summerfield ones:
Icons.
And if you haven't seen this, I really like this chap's cartooning skills in his ongoing 'Ten Doctors' online strip:
Ten Doctors.
And Pete Wisdom shows up, with a rather groovy looking five of spades card, as one of the Skrull targets for their upcoming invasion:
Pete.
That's what happens when I save up links for a few days. I'm hoping to blog from Orbital this year, so until I see you there, Cheerio.

Phew.
You're certainly keeping busy these days.
Have fun with it all and I'll be sure to check out some of the links.
Bless you!
I'm flattered that you liked the icons. Cheers!
No, thank you for making them.
Have fun in Chicago! I grew up there. Great city. I recommend seeing a show at Second City if you get the time (though you have to buy tix a week in advance as they sell out). I studied improv there once upon a lifetime.
Dear Mister Cornwell,
I have long been an admirer of your worl - particularly the one about time circles that I got from play.com

I am the owner of the Homeward Broadcasting Corporation. My word is law. That is not to say that I am autocratic - I am always willing to listen to those who want to improve on my ideas.
I am presently working on an idea for a series the like of which we have not seen on television for many years.
It is the life story of a multi-millionaire tycoon. His rag to riches story, his early struggles from lowly origins.
As a youth I was much inspired by 'The Power Game'. Sadly, it did occasionally depict great men of power in an unflattering light - but where is this kind of television now?
Unlike modern programming we shall not be afraid to tackle politics. Not, of course, in the way that the BBC did in the seventies - with all that left wing propaganda.
No, this series will depict the continuing battle of our hero with a group of anarchists bent on bringing down the establishment.
It will also emphasise the importance of civic duty and charitable works.
I am always looking for good writers, who can follow a brief, so feel free to send me your CV.
There is a spare room going in 'Lonely Tower' for only 6d a week.
The pay is commensurate with the low cost of living here - £24 5s 6d per script, plus, of course, all the peanuts you can eat.
Yours Faithfully
Uncle
P.S.I have a cooling tower at Homeward that I am thinking of knocking down to build another skyscraper - unfortunately the heritage lobby are kicking up a fuss because it has a portal to another dimension located at the top. Can you offer any advice on how to get rid of it?
Ah, so you're actually Improv Erik. And Uncle, every now and then an offer comes along which one just can't refuse. I'm waiting for one as we speak.
Paul, I loved your "Doctor Who" scripts for "Human Condition" and "Family of Blood". Would you consider coming to a literary festival in Northants next spring to talk about script writing?
Been reading The 10 Doctors for a while and it's the best Doctor Who strip out there with some fantastic character moments (Baker vs Baker, Mccoy and Troughton double act).
I've been doing improv for over 10 years and highly recommend it to any and all potential writers. Don't do it much now with three kids full-time, but the training was worth it.
Thanks again for doing the interview Paul it was a lot of fun. Hopefully see you in Bristol mate.
Barry
Hey Mr.Cornell;
This is Rich Morris, writer/artist of "The 10 Doctors." Just wanted to say thank you VERY much for plugging the site on your blog. Very flattering indeed!
I'm so amazed at the feedback I've been getting on this thing I've been doing mostly as a lark. I figure its as close as I'm ever going to get working on the series. I'm doomed to do storyboards for idiotic kiddy shows it seems.
Anyway, thanks again, I've admired your work and hope to see and read more of your stuff in the future!
Rich
Of course, Marg, let me know your e-mail address and I'll get in touch. Thanks for the interview, Barry, and you will indeed see me in Bristol. And thanks, Rich, you're very welcome. Rich, meet Mark!
Hi Paul, thanks for directing everyone to the Ten Doctors comic, it's, to coin a Ninth Doctor phrase, fantastic! However, I still haven't received the Christmas prize of those cartoons! Just wondering if you had got round to signing them?
Another Secret Invasion : Earth's Most Wanted Card. This time it's John the Skrull, as the Four of Clubs:

Hmm, I signed them a while back. I've asked my agent to have a look at his records. Could I ask what your real name is, so we can check the list? And thanks, Sword.
Off topic, Paul, but... You may be a (co-)victim of a pro-active copyright infringement paradox.

Sure. My real name is Glenn Reuben (Gluben is a combination of the two, just to be pedantic).
