Get Pete Wisdom at a Discount Price!
I don't know if a deal like this, between a creator and a supplier, has ever been tried before. I'm pleased to announce that, thanks to the kind offices of the team at Forbidden Planet International, those of you who haven't previously dipped your toe into the world of comics (I'm looking at you, Doctor Who fans and SF readers), can take a low-priced dip into the comic I'm writing.
One click on the above banner will take you to a purpose-built Pete Wisdom sales website, where you'll be offered three options about how you might want to purchase the six issues of Wisdom, the Marvel Comics miniseries which starts in November, written by me and drawn by the incomparable Trev Hairsine.
Option A: you get sent the series in three packages, each of two issues (so your first package will be sent after issue two is out), at a total cost for the whole series of £18.90.
Option B: you get two packages of three issues (the first sent after issue three is out), all in all a cost of £16.90.
Option C: when the series is complete you'll be sent it all in one go, for £15.90.
The prices above include everything. The comics will be delivered to your door, bagged and in a special protective card box, in mint condition. Options B and C are actually cheaper than if you bought the issues over the counter.
I get my own comics delivered by FPI, and find their service to be excellent and reliable.
At the moment, I'm sorry to say that this offer is only available to British readers. If any American distributor would like to make a similar offer, I’d be interested in hearing from them.
Please bear in mind that Wisdom is a Marvel Max title, and is thus rated as an adult title, containing themes and scenes unsuitable for children.

I'm ordering it through my local comic shop...
Great! I also very much don't want to hurt local comic shops, which is why I think it's useful that our earliest special offer starts shipping only after the first two issues are out. And thanks for being such an early adopter.
I guess living in the US, I'll just do it the old fashioned away and drive to my local comic shop. ;-)
RATS!
Not only am I no longer in the UK, but now I am also stranded at my (admittedly wonderful) liberal arts college in rural Ohio, without a comic book store for miles.
Hopefully I'll be able to pick these titles up over break when I'm back home in Boston...
sigh.
Also, I don't know if this has been covered in the comments on your other entries- I must admit, I haven't had time to read them since being back at school- but are you at liberty to discolse anything about the Robin Hood tape-kidnapping situation?
It sounds like, whenever (if ever) you can talk about it, it'll make a pretty good story.
It's already on my pull list.
I'm loving hearing from all the people who are supporting their local comic shops. Great stuff. Maggie, you could try the Comic Book Shop Locator Service:

The theft of the Robin master tape was real, I'm assured, but these days so many copies are taken for various reasons that it won't prevent broadcast. A couple of tabloids have conjured up mirages of scenes being refilmed, but that's rubbish, I think. I'm off to the launch party tonight.
I don't know... Are there Krotons in it?
What's the cover price of the comics, Paul? Most American comics tend to go for £2.20 in my local FP - which would make a six issue series cost £13.20, I believe.
(I'm certainly planning to add Wisdom to the list of titles I pick up, for what it's worth)
Ooooh Trevor Hairsine
* has a 2000AD nostalgia trip *
Dammit. No wonder I'm always skint.
Yes, there are Krotons in it. In issue four, there's nothing but. FP quoted me the regular price as being £2.85, probably because we're in a nice paper format with a card cover, as far as I understand. And indeed, ooh, Trev Hairsine! And you haven't seen the cover to issue two, like I just have. Or his sweet baby photos. But that's neither here nor there.
I should say, from the Robin party this evening, that every detail of the master tape theft story turns out to be true, and that they are indeed refilming bits as we speak. The poor guys! But the good news is that episode one kicks serious bottom, and that the party was over-stuffed with journos like the first Who party was, indicating bigtime interest and therefore, I hope, big ratings.
How much do they have to refilm for Robin? Will it hurt the broadcast of the series or are they small scences that will be easy to fix?
Just wanted to drop a quick comment saying I enjoyed the new picture immensely. Your expression in it is priceless- well chosen!
It'd be my guess that the Robin theft won't impact on viewers at all. Ta, Maggie, I did a shoot with a local photographer called Al Cane, so now DWM will have something new to print too!
Great about Robin -- I will now have to wait until it gets to this side of the world (The US) before I can see it.
As for picture, the second one reminds me of a Listerene Commerical for some reason.
Weird how the mind can act up with the smallest of provocations.
There may be Krotons. But I want Kroton the Cyberman.
:)
You should have seen the 'before' shot. And yes, that's what I meant. Kroton the Cyberman. In every issue.
Ohh fab - I'll spread the word.
I'm about to link to your site. Looks good!
As someone who opted for Option C, I'd forgotten I'd ordered it by the time the e-mail from Forbidden Planet came telling me it was dispatched.
...Maybe I maid a small error with which option to go for, ah well.
